Beech 1900D - How is Number of Passengers Determined?

Recommended Posts

Guest DonaldS

Hi;I understand that 19 passengers is the maximum number passengers for the Beech 1900D, but how do I load; say, 7 or 14, for example?I know that the numbers are determined in the >AIRCRAFT >Fuel and Payload section of FS9 but the default number is not made in numbers; but rather, in pounds. I believe the default number of pounds is 1640.Is 170 lbs the number of each passenger? For instance the DC-3 has a list in "Change Payload":Pilot - 170 lbsCo-Pilot - 170 lbsPassenger(s) Row 1 - 680 (when divided by 4 = 170 lbs per passenger)Passenger(s) Row 2 - 680Etc.Etc.Etc.The PMDG Beech 1900 D has, in "Change Payload" the following:Pilot - 170 lbsCo-Pilot - 170 lbsPassengers 1640 - (when divided by 19 = 86.315 lbs per passenger)When 19 passengers is multiplied by 170 lbs, the number is 3230 lbs.Maximum Gross Weight is shown as = 17060 lbs (which divided by 19 is: 170 lbs)So.....................is 170 lbs the weight of each passenger on the Beech 1900D what you are using when determining how many passengers are on board the aircraft?Just checking to make sure I'm doing this correctly. Thanks,Don Schaaf

While I can't say for certain regarding the Beech, in my experience, 170lbs for a passenger is the value used by various FMCs when calculating the mass of passengers on board. It would appear that PMDG is using the same convention.Mike
