Has anyone been having any VNAV problems with new 800/900? It seems when the speeds switch to above 10,000 agl, the VNAV speed is set to 0. Anyone have a solution or the same problem?

The speed will go to the climb target so from airport restriction 250 to XXX. Are you using add-on wheather perhaps? You say the speed is going to 0 so I am assuming you mean the PFD's spd tape? A screenshot would talk a million words ;)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. I've had a similar issue with the /900. Once above FL100 the target speed stays at 250kts and the A/T reduces N1% TO 33 causing a stall.FMC CLB page has the correct data but for some reason the A/P goes south. I'm going to try different weights to see if it happens again. BTW, he /800 is fine.Dave FisherCYYZP4 2.8 GB 478P 533 MHZ CPUP4P800S Asus Motherboard512 DDRGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

Ok Dave, Here is the 900 VC Alaska livery in VNAV passing 10000', nothing strange whatsoever in fact I was in a reduced climb 1 to boot. Take a look here- http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/73215.jpg So wat we ned to know is what you are doing exactly, FMC loading, weights etc etc anything else you have running at the same time. OK Randy, I've made a few successful climbs, the only thing I've noticed was an erratic climb rate. I would go from 2500fpm to 5000fpm, as the airspeed bled off I'd go back to 1000fpm then finally settle at about 3000fpm. One question about TCAS I'm using UT so I've set the preferance to 2004 internal and set TA/RA on the transponder, yet I've got no traffic showing. Any ideas?Dave FisherCYYZP4 2.8 GB 478P 533 MHZ CPUP4P800S Asus Motherboard512 DDRGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

Well, after doing some tests I've noticed its not always at 10,000. And when the speed does set itself to 0, you can set it back by just setting the speed to what it should be. I'll post a screenshot in a few.Nick B.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg--AMD Athlon XP 3200+nVidia GeForce FX 52002 x 512 PC400Soyo SY-KT600 Dragon Plus100 GB Western Digital

Can I take a wild guess and say that you both are using Active Sky for weather? I have a sneaky feeling thats the case of the IAS going to 0.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Randy,I use ActiveSky and have had speed drop to zero but it is only the IAS tape that drops (I think), the engines are still running a good N1 rate and the IAS tape will recover in a few seconds. I have never had a stall or such when that happens.I guess it's related to that undocument FS9 'feature' of violent wind shifts.Dave
