737 800/900 trim wheel "misconception"

Recommended Posts

When applying up and down trim in virtual cockpit mode. The trim wheels appear to be turning at 100rpm in either direction. Is there a quick fix for this problem. Thanks/Chris Fenlaw

That should be the real behavior. The trim wheels on the real thing move very fast.

Morten>But is the trim really that noisy in the cockpit?Yes, according to our real-world NG drivers it is. And I guess the real-world drivers frequenting the forum can confirma this as well. You know the NG flightdeck it's not your normal, cosy and quiet office cubicle. ;-)Hope it helps,

I can confirm that the 737 trim is indeed REALLY noisy and also a danger to the future health of anything that you see fit to rest on the trim wheel! The trim moves particularly fast when flap is selected, because of this and the little handle that can be swung out of the wheel itself it is common practice to reach over and cover the other guys knees when setting the trim, that little handle could do your kneecap some serious damage! Hope that helpsKris
