Landing TRIM setting?

What is the proper trim that the -800 and -900's should generally be set on? It seems while flying in VC, I have to raise the seat height view so high to see the runway on the approach when I am tracking the G/S. I think it may have to do with my trim setting being off. Thanks.

Hi Eric,You don't set a specific trim amount for approach. For a stable approach the aircraft has to be trimmed to maintain vref +5 at about 700 fpm descent rate for the current aircraft weight with landing flaps. The trim required will be less for a light aircraft and more for a heavy one so there is no set and forget trim setting. The easiest way to trim is to use your vsi and also practice on a runway with an ILS. And as a side note to this, if you are doing an Autlanding, the AFDS will apply bias trim at 400 RA like the real bird, another feat that has impressed me from the programmer ;-)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
