Pls explain weight logistics

Recommended Posts

I would like someone to explain me the weight logistics on the 737, specifically the 800/900 series please. When at the loadout screen, I can only put so much on the aircraft without exceeding the max ZFW. I can't even fully load the plane with passengers (which is supposedly very common these days), without having 0 space left for baggage. And that doesn't even include cary-ons.How does it work for the airlines? Why would boeing design an airplane with so many seats that can't be filled? The only thing I could possibly think of is that the 737s rarely have much baggage in the holds. So the way I justify it is that way. Passengers have no baggage, and everything in the holds counts for cary-ons.Perhaps someone could enlighten me?Thanks

NelsonPity you do you give numbers or an example as to what you are able to load ... I am able to load full pax load on a 900 single cabin ( = 189 passengers ) together with 11460 lbs/ 5209 kgs in the belly holds...So in my case there is nothing wrong with the weightlogistics of the commercial airlineworldb rdgs / Dick

So in other words, you're saying my assumption was right - the real 737 is NEVER filled to the max in the belly holds, and 11,460 LBs is a reasonable weight for non carry-on baggage? Darn, now that I think about it, that makes out to be about 60LBs of luggage per person!!!, and that more than accounts for cary ons. Just goes to show you how often I think!!!Sacha
