Climb problems

Recommended Posts

On my last two flights now with the-700 I've had trouble after engaging VNAV. Climbing out as usual, at 3000' AGL I engage VNAV and my speed begins to bleed off until a stall is initiated. After recovering I'll engage VNAV again and, I lose speed. N1 is showing climb power. Another thing, I cannot access the CLB or CRUISE pages. I'm not doing anything different, I've had 100's of successful flights. Any ideas?Dave FisherCYYZP4 2.8 GB 478P 533 MHZ CPUP4P800S Asus Motherboard512 DDRGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

I have occasionally (rarely really) engaged Vnav and still been climbing hard and have not yet accelerated and had a similar problem. Particularly in the early days before embarking on a crash course in proper jet flight procedure. I was making the transition from GA and would engage Vnav / Autopolit very early, sometimes the 737 would not nose down to chase the speed bug set by the FMC. I though at the time it was my poor flying and it in part is as it does not happen any more. It sounds like what you had is a more severve version of what I experienced.cheers, Nick

Nick, that sounds alot like what I was experiancing. The nose would not fall to allow the speed to increase. Like I said, it's only happened a few times. Thank's.Dave FisherCYYZP4 2.8 GB 478P 533 MHZ CPUP4P800S Asus Motherboard512 DDRGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

Do you use activesky? If so, it might be worthwile getting the latest Maintenance Releas (release 2) which was released on the 26/5 I think. Go to their AVSIM forum to find out more info. There was something (more related to higher level climb) that caused the OAT to be higher than expected, resulting in poor climb performance.Geoffrey BaleanCanberra, AU (YSCB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg http://www.vozvirtual.org/images/pmdgforumsignature.png"Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
