Operating instructions Rev. 1.4 pg. 7-56 shows a green arc on the ND's trackline. I have observed it come and go periodically in flight. What is it trying to tell me and how do I use it? Yes I have read the manual and don't recall seeing anything about it.Also, speaking of RECALL, what does "recall _ cleared" refer to on the taxi and takeoff check list. I am not familiar with the term. I assume it refers to the annunciator caution lights being extinguished, but thats just a guess. Thanks.Dan Hayden

Use it when aiming to reach a desired altitude for a certain waypoint.>>Also, speaking of RECALL, what does "recall _ cleared" refer>to on the taxi and takeoff check list. Recall is simply when you push the display where all the warnings come up, just left of the EFIS panel. You push it and observe no cautions to complete the Recall.Geoffrey BaleanCanberra, AU (YSCB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg http://www.vozvirtual.org/images/pmdgforumsignature.png"Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. "Answer; it shows the position line where you will be at end of current descent. Use it when aiming to reach a desired altitude for a certain waypoint."Actually, it shows at what point you would reach the altitude in your MCP window at the current rate of descent/ascent (i.e current V/S) at the current groundspeed (I think) if you were to fly in a straight line. This is not the same as the FMC computations of end of descent, top of climb, etc. It doesn't take into account curves in the LNAV track, changes in windspeed further down the track, changes in airspeed, say, at 10,000', during descents, etc, etc. It's only a very basic tool. Also know as the "green banana".Cheers.Ian.
