On the VNAV stuff, you have a misunderstanding - you are in VNAV PTH mode, which holds a vertical PATH through the air, not an airspeed. It is perfectly normal in a PTH descent for it to under or overshoot the speed "target" to maintain the path. If you want it to hold a particular speed use VNAV speed or LVL CHG.

Daniel,The curves behaviour in the FMC is perfectly normal. Each curve's radius is derived from the predicted speed or if the next waypoint the actual speed. SO if you want nice curves on your departure procedure be sure to insert speeds in the legs page.You already got a good answer regarding your first question.PS. It's a good thing to check with manuals and forum collegues before shouting "bug"!!Regards,

Just to add to this excellent explanation, that you'll notice if the airspeed does get too far below FMC target speed on a VNAV PTH the autothrottle will eventually add thrust. When the airspeed is below FMC target speed like you describe, its usually because of a greater than forcasted direct headwind. Also you'll notice that a greater than forecasted direct tailwind will cause the opposite to occure, airspeed faster than FMC target speed.Floyd

Hi, This is a very good explanation of what is actually going on during the decend. The question is now, how do you obtain the predicted winds? Is the solution to use AS2K4 and connect it to VATSIM? If so, what altitudes would you enter the winds at?Thanks,BoazEKCH
