IFR ATC and the need to respond VERY quick

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hi,I've got this annyoing problem when flying with 16x time acceleration. If you don't respond very quickly to the ATC order then it's VFR time.So my question: is there any file where you can edit this respond time, so that you have more time to reply before the flightplan is cancelled? Thanks and regards,Martin

I don't think so. Maybe you should try shorter flights? 16x?

Well, I like to fly some transatlantic routes. So 4x is not that comfortable. :-)

8x is the max if you fly with the autopilot. I find flying an aircraft by hand at 16x very uncomfortable.Andrew

What do you mean 8x is max? The autopilot is working fine with 16x.

The only workaround I can think of is the following:When ATC hands you over to a new sector(or station, whatever), tune the new station but do not contact them. Then when you slow down to normal speed contact them. If you are still within the boundaries of your flightplan IFR will not be canceled.Alex

Thanks, I'll try that. Better than VFR :-D
