July 6, 200421 yr I have to say first off that finally having time off this summer to practice with my PMDG 737NG is fantastic! Now, with that I have two issues I've found so far that irk me. First, where is the selection made to switch between active Comm radios, i.e. the switch to transmit on one and receive on the other. I have keyboard commands set up now to switch, but there still is no visible display on the PMDG 737NG radio stack or anywhere else as to which channel you actively are on. On the default MS FS radio stacks you have that capability, as do most every other addon aircraft I've seen. Secondly, as we're talking radios, where are the switches to turn on/off the Nav identification tones? It seems the MS default keyboard commands don't interact with the PMDG radios, and flying around when you have a Nav radio picking up the ident morse code for a while can be maddening. The PMDG 737NG would be an excellent product if I could just find how to access these radio functions. Anybody out there know the fixes for these issues?
July 6, 200421 yr They`re all there, at least if you`ve got the 800-900 upgrade. (Have forgotten how the radio stack looked like before that... :-) Am in the middle of Poland on a flight to Antalya, cannot go to FS02 and check.)Radio control panel, just below NAV1 frequency panel. To the left of the squawk box.Top row of square buttons shows which comm radio or PA you transmit on, the active one is marked with three vertical yellow lines. Bottom row of buttons on same panel lets you listen to the idents, just push the one you want to listen to, when active shown with a yellow dot. All are active, ie, they all work. Even ADF2. Kjell.
July 7, 200421 yr Ah ha...so it's in the 800/900 upgrade? There isn't a patch for the 600/700 version? I fixed it (cobbed, really) by just placing the default MS B737 radio panel into the PMDG 700 panel.cfg, so now when I pull up the PMDG radio I get the default MS B737 panel (albeit rather small) at the bottom of the PMDG radio, so I at least can easily switch Comm freqs, as well as turn on/off the radio idents. Hopefully a new 737NG update/patch will correct this as I'm not sure the 800/900 upgrade would be worth it. Thanks for your reply.Rob
July 7, 200421 yr HiThere is a post somehwere here thatdeals with this. And if I'm not mistaken I think Tim Metzinger's tutorial has an appendix dscussing how to put the default audio panel in the PMDG radio panel section. Give those two a go and I'm sure you'll sort it out.PS. Don't hold your breath on a patch for this for the 600/700. The 800/900 has a lot more to offer than giving you the radio panel. TCAS alone makees it worth every penny if you ask me.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
