July 7, 200421 yr 2) There is no requirement that a post must be PMDG or PMDG Product related. PMDG is comprised of programming and aviation experts from around the world, and one of the things we enjoy discussing (more than ourselves, of course!) is aviation, simulation and FLYING!

July 7, 200421 yr Well yippee. CS has never impressed me with there high fidelity system modeling, so I will probably take a pass. And besides, what is it with these developers doing what other developers are already going? First Ariane decides to the NG (I fail to see how the is economical, but that is just me), and now CS is doing a 767? I guess we forgot about 767PIC2v.I want some variety, not the same old thing from 10 developers, but that is just me :)
July 7, 200421 yr I agree with you. Now we have a PMDG 737, Ariane is developing one and Dreamfleet is planning to develope one :SLefteris, regarding my previous post, just a joke :Dbyebye
July 7, 200421 yr But Captin Sim have a nasty habit of giving out release dates then not sticking to them, they had (not sure if they still do have) bad support and they tend to forget about previous products the minute they start work on a new one. This is just my impression after dealing with them.RegardsLee
July 7, 200421 yr Captain Sim will certainly blow away PIC's panel and exterior but would have serious doubts that it can come anywhere near PIC's Godhood ;-) Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. July 7, 200421 yr I have the Captain Sim 727 and I must say that I enjoy flying it very much. It handles nicely, and there's no FMC. You can't even slave it to FSNavigator.......which means that you have to do the flying yourself. There is a trick to enable the NAV mode to be slaved to the FS9 GPS though. Almost every switch is modelled, and most of them do have an impact on the flight operations. The model is stunningly beautiful and is probably the most FPS friendly model I have on my machine....I get better FPS with it than with the Dreamfleet archer for example. This is the only Jet I have installed where I actually use the VCs.....FPS are that good. Of course, like many other addons, the guage refresh rates in the VC are not as great as with the 2D panel.Captain Sim also has this special feature called "Checked and Set". You are basically not alone in the cockpit. There is a virtual First Officer and a Virtual Engineer. They read out the checklists, and they even push knobs for you. For example, the engineer will call out the before taxi checklist item for the packs.... If you're too lazy to go put the packs on yourself, you can just hit the spacebar, and the engineer will actually do it for you.....this makes the panel a bit easier to learn and fly than the RFP747.The other thing that I must praise Captain Sim for is the photorealistic nature of their panels. The panels are absolutely stunning. And the perspective in the 2D panel is almost spot on. You're close to the ADI instead of being close to the center of the cockpit. Now, Captain sim has never really built a Jet that requires / has an FMC by default in the real world. (Meaning that the 727 didn't originally have one, even though some are retrofitted today). The 757/767 will be their first attempt. They have already proven that their standards and quality are close to PMDG. So it will be interesting to measure up their 757/767 with the PIC offering. Naturally, just like many other developers, they had some theething problems regarding release dates, bugs, etc. But I think they've learned a lot of lessons from experience and they are a group of guys that I will support.Whenever I want to do some "real flying" I jump into the the CS727. When I feel like flying a more mordern jet, I of course jump into the PMDG737. For long haul, the RFP 747 fits nicely....pending the release of the PMDG747. But of course, long haul "real flying" will still be with the RFP. :)
