July 16, 200421 yr Hello friendsPropably a silly question, allow me please ..I do the cockpit preparations, start up the engines but when it comes to start up the right engine (left or both) then they start up and then goes down again. I am confused, i open the throttle panel but how do i open up the cut off leveler at 20% N2 ..Also, the low pressure lights are on, can't turn them off. Propably i do not do something right or at all. Sorry i can not give you more information i am not on my pc for the moment.Could someone help...?thanx in advanced, have a nice day, nikolas
July 16, 200421 yr The fuel cut off levelers are just below the two throttles on the throttle panel. Just click above them to pull them up.The Low Press lights on the central tanks will light up if the central tank is empty. If you are going on a light fuel load, then leave 1000lbs in the central tank and leave the fuel pump switchs of the center tank OFF for the whole flight, unless you are about to run out of fuel. That 1000lbs is "sacking fuel". You use it, your sacked unless you have very good reason, if I understand correctly that is.

That 1000lbs is "sacking>fuel". You use it, your sacked unless you have very good>reason, if I understand correctly that is.The 1000lbs is kept in the centre tanks to keep the centre tank fuel pumps cool. Boeing initiated a recall on some fuel pumps after it was found that there is a chance of a pump malfunction in an empty centre tank, causing overheating and eventual electrical arcing with the possibility of a rather large explosion of the residual fuel vapour. The interim solution to this until all faulty pumps are replaced is to keep the pumps immersed in fuel.
