Missed approach procedures

Can anyone help me with a standard missed approach procedure for the autopilot?At the moment, when I am too high, or too fast, or can't see the runway or Im off center line, I go missed. I keep runway track, and turn when I am above the initial climb to alt on the chart.The problem i am having is how to get the APP mode off. It's hard to tell if it's on or off, as the light is out when it's on and out when it's off :S. Usuaaly I would have disco'ed the autopilot and had a fight at getting on centerline and GS, before giving up and climbing out straight to go missed. Then rengaging the AP with the APP mode still engaged can result in a dive for the end of the runway, or worse, a turning dive into the terminal.I'm sure there must be a technique here, any pointers?Did I hear mentions of a auto missed approach or was that another plane?THanks.
