FS 2004 Update file is on the web site

I ,personally am going to wait awhile to see if there are issues with this update, like the ones that exist with SP2, before I install it. But here is the link to the update, if anyone is a brave enough to beta test it :). http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/downloads.asp

Got it and installed it. Set everything to Ultra High (weather to HIGH) and its as smooth as butter. That's in my case... you may have different results. If you read the setup instructions carefully, you probably won't have trouble... I did not... you may.BTW, I had Autogen set to zero before the patch because it caused bad frames and stutters... not now.

Did you have trouble with the FSUIPC or No CD add ons that are mentioned on the FS newsgroup? Both of these issues are apparently causing problems.

Just as I suspected, there are already more than a few complaints from people that have installed the update and run into problems on alt.games.microsoft.flightsim , Several people have even had to do a complete reinstall of FS9.Thanks, but no thanks.

All you have to do is get the new version 3.40 of FSUIPC. Go to Windows Explorer/Tools and click on show hidden folders.Delete the fs9.cfg text file in Docs & Settings Flight Simulator Files.Restart then select the default Megs Field flight let it load and then shut it down.Download the patch and extract it to C:/...Microsoft Games/FS9 folder.Go into My Computer and find the root dir. of fs9. The icon looks like a suspension bridge, click on it and it will install the patch. If you use Active Camara get the latest update before you install the patch.1:Latest FSUIPC2:Newest update for AC3:Clean FS9.cfg file.If you do those things above you will have no problems with the update! You will be happy you did.Regards

Hi!When I try to install the update I get a message, "Abort, callback 0D" and it all terminates. I have installed the updates from Active Camera and FSuipc. Anybody who has expirenced the same thing?

Not the case for the FSUIPC, "if" you already had the newest version installed.I am afraid I don't know anything about the error message you're getting.

Now it stays very close to 25.2)I had no trouble with FSUIPC and I have no addons that require a nocdHope this helps.QUESTION FOR FORUM:Is putting quotes "around" a word considered wrong in forums/e-mail. I use them to "highlight" something I believe is important. I ask this becuase I have been getting "odd" reactions to some questions I have asked in the past in other forums. It just now accured to me to ask. Thanks!

Hi folks, I downloaded the patch and installed it today. Had no problems at all other that I had to delete the CFG file and the FSUIPC module. Replaced the FSUIPC with the latest version, started it up and created a new CFG file the deleted the new CFG and replaced it with a copy of a previously saved 'good' CFG...........Well, it may be my ageing system (1.60gHz AMD Athlon, ATI Radeon 8500, 1gb RAM) but I dont see that much of an improvement. Yes, I can now run Autogen scenery at 'sparse' but it still stutters and that is on the default Cessna!! I havent tried a 'complicated' panel or aircraft yet but Im not holding out much hope. Perhaps a new system might help. Anyway, thankfully the patch didn't mess up the FS9 installation, that would really have annoyed me.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/93795.jpg

Murray,> QUESTION FOR FORUM:>> Is putting quotes "around" a word considered wrong in forums/e-mail. I > use them to "highlight" something I believe is important.Yes I would suspect you could get odd reactions to this. IIRC quotation marks are used to do just that, quote. To highlight or stress something out you might wanna try the above shown method of showing the words in italic or bold which is Randy's favorite weapon of choice. This is done by putting an i or b within square brackets as start mark and /i or /b within square brackets as stop mark.Or you can use *other* characters to _stress_ your words...Hope it helps,

I thought bolding something was a sign of aggressiveness.Thank you.
