I got it last week actually. My first video from Just Planes. I'm actually a tad disapointed in the amount of systems and technical content in the video. I hoped they would talk more about the plane's systems and procedures and such than they do, but basically you're just along for the ride in the jump seat. Still neat to see some of the flight from the cockpit, but don't count on gaining alot of insight in the systems or their operation in the real world. They do discuss the overhead panel in some detail, but not the FMC, autopilot or other controls other than showing them at various stages in the flight. Also, since it is filmed in Brazil, most of the ATC with other aircraft is in Portugese...though the crew of the aircraft you ride in speak english with ATC.Beautiful scenery, though, and makes me want to go take some FS flights around Brazil.I do want to get their United 777 and Atlas Cargo 747 videos...the descriptions of those videos indicate they might speak more about the aircraft.

Nathan,The United 777 does offer a good technical insight into the mighty Boeing - highly recommended. From overhead panel, to MCP, to FMC - it's all there, in some form of detail. The approach to LHR is fantastic too - the Cap sure knows how to handle the 777 well.Jeremy Soulsby

HiThe one featuring the Boeing 737-300 Go Airlines now Easyjet is very good. Discuss the FMC, Autopilot, Instuments etc.Flight is from Stansted EGSS to Zakinthos LGZA.Regards

Okay, well thanks. I was worried that it may have a lot of Portugese when talking between them and other a/c even though English is the international lang. of aviation. Now, what about the Helios 737-800 or the WEA 737 DVD? Anyone know about those?I have the Air Europe 777 DVD and it's hard to understand at times, but they are Italian and are speaking with both other Italian controllers and African controllers, and you can understand it because it's all in English. BTW, the UAL DVD is excellent!

Hi Eric,I have 4 Just Planes DVDs, and they are a bit light on technical information compared with, say, ITVV(referred to by Jason, below). Generally speaking, they aim for a wider audience than die-hard flight simmers, and you'll notice from the comments on the site that many people use them for sight-seeing different parts of the world. So, expect a lot of out of the window shots of the landscape. However, bearing the above reservation in mind, I do think the Just Planes Hapag-LLoyd video of the 737-700 is worth having. The introductory air-to-air footage is quite nice, and the approach to Klagenfurt(Austria) is both technically interesting and spectacular.I recommend you read the comments and browse the still photos of this DVD at the Just Planes site before making a decision.I also own the ITVV Go 737-300 video return flight from London, Stansted to Faro, Portugal(Capt John Mahon, F/O Joe Wholihan). This provides a very good briefing of the various cockpit intstruments and systems, although you mustn't expect to learn, say, how to use VNAV from it. The flight has now been released in DVD format. You can find ITVV here: http://www.itvv.co.uk/I, too, would like to hear of any other recommended videos.BR,Frank

Hi there!...Yeah, Generally speaking, I prefer ITVV videos... They are very well done with several cams and you see MUCHO more of the the cockpit, procedures,etc... than the outside views(at crucial moments!) like JustPlanes Videos...My favorites are from ITVV and here they are 767-300 Leisure Int, 737-300 Go, 747-400 Virgin and 747-200 Virgin...The Jusplanes 737-7/800 Transavia is nice too(beautiful approach at LOWI!!!)...

That sounds good, but I need a good DVD for the 737NG. The Transavia is sold out unfortunately, which lead me to look at Helios, WEA, and the GOL presentations. Anyone seen WEA or the Helios DVD's?

Well, I ordered the GOL DVD since it seems to be half way decent, and I can always ask for the WEA and Helios for birthday and Christmas. Now, I have the UAL 777 and the Air Europe 777/767. Since I have the Air Europe 777 which is now sold out, is anyone interested in a trade for the Transavia or Virgin Blue 737NG since they are both sold out?
