Unfortunately the world of PC simming requires compromises even on today's best hardware (which yours ain't). What is more important for you - VC, heavy weather, dense scenery or AI traffic? You may have to prioritize and then pick your settings accordingly. If you think you can have them all on max you might be disappointed.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2, Omega 2.7.90 (4xAA 16xAF)

Thats too disappointing what can i afford better than that .....(AN AMD 3000 AIN'T THE LASTEST HARDWARE !!!!!!!!!)THEN WHAT IS IT?I know there is an AMD 3400 AND 3500 but i dont think its that difference than the 3000.Anyway can anyone give me an approximated value to the FPS i will get in the following situations:1-landing at klax with heavy clouds.2-landing at klax with clear weather.3-landing at a default airport with heavy clouds.4-landing at a default airport with clear weather.NB i dont care for AA OR AFThanks for your adviceYousry

No you did not understand or maybe we were not clear, the 3000 is ok, it's the video card and lack of ram that will hurt you more in this case. By the way, there is a HUGE difference between 64 bit AMDS and otther AMD 3000s. 1 GIG of PC 3200 ddr ram at minimum.. ATI 9800 pro should be the LEAST video card on your horizon if you want descent performance. For what you were asking for maybe a NVID 6800 GT or ULTRA or one of those ATI X800 XT PE or whatever they will set you back at least 5 bills if you can even find one that is. >(AN AMD 3000 AIN'T THE LASTEST HARDWARE !!!!!!!!!)THEN WHAT IS>IT?That's an easy question. AMD FX-53 would be the absolutely "lastest". But any AMD-64 3200 or more would fit the description.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2

You may want to try to go with a better card than the FX5200. I have a Dell 4600 2.66 with 768mb DDR Ram and I just ordered an FX5900xt for about $175. I believe the 5200 is a bottleneck on my system and I'm sure it will also be on yours. I'll have to wait and see what kind of difference it makes though but I'm sure it will from what I've researched. Also, you will likely need more RAM than 512 to avoid the stutters. The PMDG products, as great as they are, put quite a strain on the system.Eric

I have an AMD A64-3400 chip with 1gig 3200 memmory, MSI fsr2 mobo. Also the ATI 9800 Pro.I put this rig together about 5-6 monthes ago.I upgraded a system. Used the same case, added a Antec True Power 430 watt PSU.Later added two WD 74 gig Raptors in RAID 0.Before adding the Raptors my cost was about $850.00 dollars, ran great, no stutters.Since I did the above prices have dropped quite a lot on the CPU and memmory. Also the 9800 pro has come down some in price, as have the mobo. The socket 754 stuff is getting cheaper. If your able, recommend a bundled CPU, Mobo, and memmory from NewEgg or Monarch computer. They set it up and burn it in for you, no DOA's.I also installed the Win XP 64 bit Edition (beta) and FS9/PMDG runs great on it, slightly faster IMO. Did no benchies tho.I would go with a A64 bit CPU. You will see an increase in performance even with 32 bit apps. Socket 754 CPU's are now pretty affordable along with the mobo's and memmory. Granted your a bit ahead of the curve regarding 64 bits, rather be ahead than behind, no?With FS9 update I can max everything out pretty much and still have frame rates 45-65 arround crowded airports, traffic, weather, etc.For $800-900 you can put together a hell of a decent system IMHO>Regards

Thanks so much for your concerns, now i get it and will see what i can afford. One more question please:Does the AMD64 much faster than the regular one ???The difference in cost is so huge , i ve also heard that FS9 dont use this new technology

>>The difference in cost is so huge Joking? The difference in price between Athlon XP 3000 and AMD 64 3200 is about $90. Maybe you are some sort of a starving student but for most of us $90 certainly is not 'huge' sum of money.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2
