>I will wait until the BETA goes away... >Not sure where you get your info from but I can assure you DX8.1b is not beta, it is an official release.

Look, the instructions are there, you should read them. If you take advice with out reading the information for yourself you are setting yourself up for getting burned, there are some very unfreindly folks out here online and you best be careful. Just freindly advice please don't take it as anything but. :) The Answer is no, go back and read the main page on what to do if you have XP.Take care,

From what I read you have to install the fixes which can only be obtained by contacting M$ and paying their support fees. B$.I will wait until the Service Pack comes out... however long that may be.

Another reason Microsoft sucks. We have to pay to get fixes for their screw ups.

I recall SP1 will be out next month. The only time you pay MS is for support if in fact you have valid problem => isolated or something terminal I believe. The flashing textures was a mass problem, so no one is going to pay. From a logical standpoint, MS bashing doesn't solve anything because at the end of all the coding and testing are still a human beings, which are prone to mistakes. And yes, MS does use external testers that aren't employed by them. All software have faults and none are perfect regardless of developer. .. "Seeking blame isn't going to ressolve any issue".... Don't take my reply as a personal attack but it's from experience from what I had as I use to do the same. Julian
