FMC Characters Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi. I am a very new user to the PMDG 737-600/700 NG. In my FMC, I have found that some characters displayed as some little squares. It is shown in the attached file. I suspect that would be the outcome of setting my regional setting to Chinese(Taiwan). However, I need to do so as my daily activities requires my regional setting to taiwan, is there a way for the FMC to display the characters normally? Thank you very much!Gilbert/

I honestly think you ought to read the manual if you're going to really enjoy this product to its fullest (my recommendation but its up to you ultimately). To answer your question anyway: the squares actually mean information required by the FMC for VNAV to function.Clicking the LSKs next to GW or ZFW will auto populate those fields all the other squares need to be filled in manually.

To add to the reply, BOXES are required information that you must input. DASHES are optinal byt not needed to use the FMC although you would use them when required as per proper descent forecasting..
Randy J. Smith
Hi. I am sorry for bother you guys and after consulting with some tutorials and manuals, I think I have over-reacted to the boxes (as it is a common error due to regional settings). Thank you for your kind replies and happy flyings~Gil/
