what are the MFD buttons and why does it say INOP?

It's for selection of the lower DU if you have the DUs configured as lower/upper as e.g Scandinavian has it. If you have the compact upper DU

To add to Mats reply, some airlines really have INOP like SWA since their display layouts are different (EFIS/MAP)than your typical NG (PFD/ND) cockpit. For fun select the WestJet airline config through the PMDG in game menu for a "typical" NG layout... [h4]Randy J. Smith[/h4]
