CMD kicks you into what mode.....?

Recommended Posts

Sorry to repeat this stuff but just want to ensure I did understand this correctly some time ago:When you take off in the NG manually and activate CMD at whatever ALT you click it on (assuming no FMC flight programmed with LNAV+VNAV), the AP throws you into straight into....LVL CHG mode? Thanks!Jonathan

LVL change mode will take the aircraft to what ever altitude is in the MCP at the rate of climb/descent that lets it stay at whatever speed is set in the MCP (mode controll panel, Autopilot panel)sounds like a reasonable thing for the Autopilot to do given that it has no other information to go by.LVL CHG isn't related to the FMC.

Yes that is 100% correct for the real aircraft and the PMDG.
Randy J. Smith
