Recommended Posts

Guest danielslade

Hi all,I am having trouble with the TCAS not working. I have version 1.3 and have followed the manual. When on the ground I have set TCAS to test and I do not see the result on the N/D also in the PMDG menu PMDG/737NG/STYLES I see no option for TCAS or VARIOUS pages also as stated in the manual.Ok all, how thick am I being??Thanks Daniel SladeBAW1198

Daniel, two things I can suggest :a) push the traffic button to make traffic visible ( press on the range selector for the ND on the glareshield ):( before takeoff, set your transponder to TA/RA to see the traffic on the ND (the switch on the radio panel you set on test as described in your question above ) but turn it all the way to the right. Make sure transponder ist set correctly as ATC tells you to.Happy FlyingSteve

I have a question about the TCAS also, I cannot get it to display TA/RA it always says "TA only" even if the selector points to TA/RA. Any ideas? thanksAndras

Further to my last, I have a question. Will TCAS ever be available in the 737 600/700 or will 737 800/900 be available or able to run in 2002 (I hate 2004)?Jack

Jack,I use TCAS on a -600 and -700, but it might be necessary to have the -800 / -900 installed in order to do so.Dont know about FS2002, only have FS2004Steve

This is a bit confusing so let me try to clarify...TCAS is only available with the 800/900 package. The 800/900 is only compatible with FS2K4 (before you ask why, try doing a search). The 800/900 package upgrades the 600/700 with all of the features in the 800/900 package including TCAS.Hope this doesn't muddy the waters further ;-)Andras: If things are set up properly this is the correct readout when your on the ground and should change to TFC once you are airborn (approx 1000ft radio alt).
