Computer Crashes and restarts

Recommended Posts

Hi All;I am really doing well in learning PMDG 737 800/900 standalone. However, it is very fustrating to get through a major portion of start-up or FMC programming only to crash. My computer has been doing this for some time but it never really bothered me until I got PMDG 737. I have tried Latency re-setting and still the problem persist. I have three questions: 1)I have installed so many ATI VGA dirvers even I have lost count; would this make a difference in my proformance and CTD? 2)Is there a way to clear all ATI VGA driver remnace and reinstall the latest or best ATI video driver for FS9; if so, could I get someone to tell me how? 3)Are there any other suggestions that could prevent these Crashes?System:AMD XP 2700, 2.17GHz, 1 GB of Ram, Creative SB Audigy, Windows XP Home Edition with SP2, Radenon 97 pro ___________________________Willie

Hi Willie,I think you should re-post this in the hardware forum for this is not a PMDG issue from the looks of it.As for the crashes, ATI has an uninstall utility which you can download from their website for their Catalyst drivers. THe crashes may have multiple causes so it would be best to search in the hardware and FS General forum. Also, I posted some possible reasons for the crashes resulting from RAM memory mismatch or incompatiblity - do a search by "author" for postings by "Byrna" to see if this situation may apply to you.John
