ILS Frequency "scratched off by a line" on PFD?

Featured Replies

Ever since I got the 800/900, the ILD freq written on the top left corner of the PFD seems to be "scratched off" by a horizontal line through the middle ... A/P Approach mode worked fine. Autoland did not work on KPVD Runway 23, but have not tried anywhere else ... I have been hand flying a lot these days.Anyone knows?- Neeraj

Neeraj -It's all as it should be. This is almost replicated as in real life. The ILS freq and course will be stricken through if you don't have the two NAV radios set to the ILS frequency for the rwy chosen in the FMC.In real life the freq has a strike through if the no NAV radio is set to the right freq. And the course will have a strike through if the CRS selector is not set to the right value.Hope it helps,

Hi Neeraj,You mentioned that the autoland system did not work for runway 23 at KPVD. The reason for that is because runway 23 does not have a catagory III landing system. If you want to use the autoland, you can use runway 05 ILS, which has the catagory III system. Be sure the nav two radio is on the correct frequency and the the auto-pilot B is engaged. Ken.
