PMDG: Push-Back direction & Fasten-Seatbelt/No smoking signs

Recommended Posts

Guest Cantuezel

Hi,in the last time I flew around sometimes and two spontaneous questions came to my mind:1) When I Push-Back from the gate at an airport with the PMDG the push-back direction is always straight-back. Is it possible (and if yes how?) that at some point of the straight-back pushback of the PMDG the push-back changes its direction to left or right so that I am able to face another direction when I am ready to taxi?2) To the overhead Panel of the PMDG: There are an on/off and auto selection for the "No-Smoking and Fasten Seatbelt" Signs. On/Off positions are clear but how does the *Auto" selection work? At which situations (or Altitudes) do the Seatbelt/Smoking signs switch from "off" to "on" and back to "Off"? Or are there special "flight situations" when the signs are on and off in Auto-mode?3) Again the Fasten-Seatbelt/ No Smoking signs: Is it possible to see how the annunciator (lights) for the pax in the *pax-cabin* is lightended or switched off? Many thanks for your help! :)GreetingsSusan

I don't have a problem pushing back different directions in the NG.And when set to auto, I am pretty sure the seatbelt sign goes off after gear up.

^ After gear up? Are you sure? That seems mighty early for it to go off... Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpgMember of SJU Photography. Should be after 10,000 feet per normal operations. On landing, PMDG turns the seatbelt sign on at 15 or 20 deg flap.- Neeraj.

Hi,1)...so how do you guys push-back in a left/right direction then? I only know the Shift+P command to start a straight-back push-back...@TimYou wrote:"hmm I'll have to try that I've never used the auto setting..."2) Did you mean that you didn`t use the "auto-setting" in *real-life* in your real aircrafts (bytheway what kind of jet-aircrafts do you fly most in your job?) or in PMDG/MS-FS?3) Do you know how pilots at companies handle this? Is it common under pilots to switch the seatbelt/no smoking signs manually? Thanks again!Kind GreetingsSusan

Hi all,Taken from the PMDG 737NG checklist, after departing the airport, the seat belt signs are turned off when passing 10,000 feet. When decending from top of decent, the seat belt signs are turned on when passing 10,000 feet. Ken.

Susan,Download a prog called FSCopilot from Avsim - it's free and it will put a 'Co-pilot' option on the FS9 drop down menu bar. Amongst other things (like real time co-ordination) it allows you to specify direction and length of push back.

Tim,Are you saying that if you leave the seatbelts switch on 'Auto' - it automatically chimes when passing 10000 feet - can't say I've heard it do that - I've always had top flick the switch again but maybe my flaps weren't set right.

I am pretty sure the seatbelt sign goes off after gear up if left in AUTO mode hence why you should ALWAYS set it to ON and then revert it to AUTO upon passing 10,000ft. I belive there are certain in flight conditions that will trigger it on also but not 100%Quoting the 767 here but.....OFF

Whenever I have flown in real life (over 650K miles), the fasten seatbelt sign has been turned off either at cruise altitude, or near it. And back on normally around 18000 on descent.Dan

Another option for the pushback is to download Etienne Martin's fine Push/Tow/Taxi gauge here at AVSIM. Search for atngau.1.3.6.zip(and the 1.3.9 update).BR,Frank

Hi Frank,I downloaded and installed atngau 1.3.6.zip (and the 1.3.7 update) the way it is described in the "atn.gau documentation.pdf".I descided to install the gauge in the PMDG-700 so I made an update of the panel.cfg of the -700, copied the atn.gau in the main gau directory of FS and then edited the panel.cfg this way:"[Window Titles]Window00=Dummy Main ViewWindow01=Main PanelWindow02=Zoomed PanelWindow03=Approach PanelWindow04=Landing PanelWindow05=OverheadWindow06=CDUWindow07=ThrottlesWindow08=RadioStackWindow11=PFD PopupWindow12=ND PopupWindow13=EICAS PopupWindow14=Right CDUWindow15=Lower EICAS PopupWindow16=Chronograph PopupWindow17=Pushback...//--------------------------------------------------------[Window01] // PMDG_MAIN_PANELfile=737NG_Main_Background_1280.bmp file_1024=737NG_Main_Background_1280.bmpsize_mm=1280,960position=7visible=1ident=20window_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000gauge00=PMDG_737NG_Main!MainBackLight,0,0,1280,960,MAINgauge01=PMDG_737NG_Main!GearLever, 1198,635,83,223gauge02=PMDG_737NG_Main!EFISDisplay, 50,670,250,250,PFD 1gauge03=PMDG_737NG_Main!EFISDisplay, 388,670,250,250,ND 1gauge04=PMDG_737NG_Main!EFISDisplay, 900,670,250,250,EICAS 1gauge05=PMDG_737NG_Main!EFIS,369,398,181,113gauge06=PMDG_737NG_Main!GearLights,1199,554,78,80gauge07=PMDG_737NG_Main!FlapsDial,1114,549,71,74gauge08=PMDG_737NG_Main!FlapsLights,1106,625,88,19gauge09=PMDG_737NG_Main!FlapsReliefLight,1126,526,39,16gauge10=PMDG_737NG_Main!MCP,550,383,730,130,MAINgauge11=PMDG_737NG_Main!N1_Set,881,544,35,31gauge12=PMDG_737NG_Main!SpdRef,971,545,35,31gauge13=PMDG_737NG_Main!FuelFlow,899,597,65,60gauge14=PMDG_737NG_Main!AutoBrakes,1015,551,99,74gauge15=PMDG_737NG_Main!DSP, 268,558,170,86gauge16=PMDG_737NG_Main!TestPanel,478,548,128,98gauge17=PMDG_737NG_Main!MasterCaution, 140,431,216,66gauge18=PMDG_737NG_Main!FireWarning, 89,431,50,66gauge19=PMDG_737NG_Main!SbyADI, 683,563,166,122gauge20=PMDG_737NG_Main!SbyAltimeter, 683,685,166,122gauge21=PMDG_737NG_Main!SbyRMI, 683,807,166,153gauge22=PMDG_737NG_Main!Whiskey, 1019,66,48,31gauge23=PMDG_737NG_Main!MFD, 966,596,50,45gauge24=PMDG_737NG_Main!PanelSwitcher, 41,617,221,24gauge25=PMDG_737NG_Main!AutoBrakesDisarm,1052,531,41,15gauge26=Atn!Toggle,0,0,1,1,15123...//--------------------------------------------------------[Window17]BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0size_mm=300,410 // overall size of panel windowposition=8 // bottom right positionvisible=1 // make this 1 to make it visible on startupident=15123 // this must match the last param in atn!togglegauge00=Atn!Pushback,0,0,300,80,15123gauge01=Atn!Scale,0,80,300,80gauge02=Atn!Electric,0,160,300,170gauge03=Atn!Ambient,0,330,300,80 But when I select the PMDG -700 I don`t see the push-back gauge at all!
