A Duck for Heather!!!

Thanks, playing with it now. Not real happy with the way it comes on step and the throttle required to get it moving. Will post my results as soon as I'm happy with it.I have also added more rudder response. Anyone familiar with this aircraft. Seemed to me that the rudder was not very effective and there is way too much brake power. Comments?Jim

I'm not sure what "Duck" you have downloaded for I am using the panel that came with it by John McGUIGAN.Unfortunately, I can't even tell you where to download this duck because the package was sent to me.Watch your email. Sending a zip file. A lot of different cfg files there, not sure which one is important so i just zipped "everything" from the main aircraft folder.The tail-wheel is still too sunk into the ground to suit me, but will get at it later.Let me know if you get it figured out before I do.Also let me know if you have any troubles. Worse comes to worse, I'll just send you the whole package (along with my new "Pink Baby.")I hope to be uploading the "Pink Duck" textures as soon as I get permission from the creator of this initial Duck package.Cheers!Heather

She will lean to one side when on floats at about 40knots or so when landing, you get aileron control at about 35knots and can lift the pontoon at that point. I am still not happy with the amount of throttle required to get it moving and the amount of time you need to apply that throttle.It comes on step very nicely now though. I am using the download that you mentioned in one of your earlier posts...which, with the exception of the CFS2 Duck is the one at Simviation. No matter which cfg I use, the duck just bounces, twists and generally looks like it is trying to become an acrobatic plane. Would you please be so kind as to send me your package? hildreth22@msn.comKeep em flying...

Wow, that's a *beautiful* repaint, Heather. You are quite the artist.I wish I could find some time to do some more repaints -- darn this job, anyway! (LOL) Oh well, only a couple more years until I retire (maybe FS2K4 will be out by then :>)

(Blush!!!)Thanks for the compliment guys, but actually, I don't hink I'm all THAT good. On the Duck, I had gone down the side with the same dark blue but in a stripe that had a line of white stars in it. really liked it but apparently the side of the plane is not perfectly flat so my line had a "wavy" look to it. :-(It looked fine if you took a "stand back" view but up close it was very noticeable. I still might put it back; still have some polishing to do on her before I upload the textures.I wish that I could upload the entire aircraft package but I can't get hold of the author for permission. Do you think I can get in trouble for uploading the "textures ONLY" and advising the end-user in the readme to use for their OWN personal use? The author had a clause in his copyright not to modify if to be redistributed.I'm about to give up on repainting aircraft and dive into scenery instead. Less legal hassle.Oh, and yes, I know my repaints are gaudy and garrish, but I like 'em!! Sure makes them noticable huh? And although it was not my initial intention to use the Vargas "mail" girl on a regular basis, it's sort of become the trademark of "Heather's Air Charter." people expect it.May start using different girls with different planes and give each plane a different name, for each girl. I LOVED his work, along with Runci, Elvgren, Frush, the list goes on and on.Cheers!and thanks!Heather
