Anyone had a problem with the sound in ATC dropping out ? . The actual On screen messages are ok its just I cant here the fellow say them !!. I am wondering if its connected with the problems I am experiencing with the sidewinder stick I have the sliders all maxed out in the sound settings page .Pent 1.7 gig256 RAM GeForce2

If you are not hearing the ATC voices at all, you are probably missing the compressed audio codecs. For Win98, select start, settings, control panel, Multimedia, Device Tab, select the "+" by Audio Compression Codecs and look for:Microsoft IMA ADPCM CODECMicrosoft ADPCM CODECMicrosoft PCM ConverterIf missing, select add/remove programs in control panel. Select Windows Setup Tab, select Multimedia, click Details, check Audio Compression and any other items you might want to install at this time, select OK, and follow the instructions. You may need your Win98 CD.For WinXP, select start, control panel, sounds and audio devices, hardware tab, Audio Codecs, Properties button, select properties tab and look for:IMAADP32.ACMMSADP32.ACMMicrosoft PCM ConverterIf missing, insert your WinXP CD and attempt to do a repair/recovery.
