Picture yourself sitting on the flight deck of a real 737 Next Generation Aircraft and someone says to you, "Ok Mr-Ms so & so, please set up the aircraft for takeoff". Of course this would simply be impossible for one to do if they have no knowledge on how these aircraft work. I'm not saying this is the real thing, but in many ways the learning curve is. The one thing to always keep in your mind is the word "variable" because most things related to the questions you ask vary according to many factors. Now, to your questions1] what do i do to make the 737NG aircraft fly from point A to point B, with the auto pilot? a: Well that depeneds on what point A and B are. If the points are in the computer data base one would simply engage VNAV but since that also involves knowing how to program the Flight Management Computer it is beyond the scope of my reply. Of course you can fly without the computer, using the Mode Control Panel by selecting your heading, speed and rate of climb. You can tune in VORs etc and navigate like you have in other default MSFS aircraft. To get this aircraft to Autoland is not to difficult, one selects the ILS approach and dials that into the NAV radios, set the course selector to final app course, capture LOC then G/S (Push APP button) then arm second Autopilot (B CMD button) set MCP speed to landing VREF speed and set full flaps. As you might have noticed, just knowing some of these steps begs a million other questions ;-) so the best way for you to learn is to you a tutorial, you can find one in the Library section here at Avsim.. Oh man, you need a few tutorials, LOLIt'll take a lot more than just a simple explanation to get through it all. Be sure to read the manuals with the plane as well though.
