A Heads Up for Hong Kong fans ...

Recommended Posts

Legendary mesh man Raimondo "Ray" Taburet has been experimenting with a 30M Gaia mesh for Hong Kong in replacement of his previous FS2002 mesh. At only 102KB, it's not a killer download! The first version of this new mesh is available today for download from my site, below; we're on a hunt for more accurate source information, and there's a chance that this mesh will be available in even greater detail soon. Check back! And before someone deletes this post, it's freeware.Looking at the Island ...http://www.swiremariners.com/HKgaia.jpgOver Kowloon, Kai Tak approach ...http://www.swiremariners.com/Kgaia.jpgNow what we'd really like to see is some LANDCLASS for Hong Kong, so that we could get a few buildings in the right places. Anyone up to the task? Tough one ... urban Hong Kong is one of the most populated places on earth (ground area:people, that is) and that's accomplished by most people sitting on top of each other in highrises.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Thanks Mark for the update. I would also like to see a China mesh but I don't think there is much data on that. Have you checked if the "wall" is in FS?Julian

Thanks for your information! Perhaps a stupid question: how well does it work with Thomas Kwok free scenery from Hong Kong? Are there any problems combining these two?Regards, Ferry

No problems that I have encountered. The pictures above include his scenery. The major point you will notice with Thomas' scenery are some demarkation lines where his scenery ends and FS2002 begins (see the Hong Kong Island shot) as is typical with FS2000 scenery in FS2002 ... but this is nothing to do with the mesh.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg
