747-400 Engine Air Bleeds & EICAS

Recommended Posts

Guest charlie130

Hi There,I have searched for this but can find no real answer:It seems that the PMDG 744 engines can be started with duct air but with the engine bleeds turned off. With them turned of how can high pressure air from the duct (Supplied from ground or APU) reach the air starters? If you look at the EICAS display, the valve Bleed say's off, but the green line just bursts through it. With the engine bleed off air should neither be able to get to the engine or be bled off from the engine, aren't I right?Secondly, why are my packs always 'stuck' on high flow? Is this a bug or do I not understand them?Best wishes,Luke

I thought that the Bleed Air stuff seemed a little "it will work no matter what you do" type as well. The Level-D 767 seems a lot more finicky, it won't let me start the engine if the pack is ON ... My packs are not stuck in hi flow. I can turn on or off as I wish.- Neeraj.
