LVLD.DLL

Recommended Posts

I just had a CTD while taxing out with the PMDG 744. This appears to happen on my PC most of the time with external view.I looked at the crash details and the culprit was lvld.DLL in my modules folder. Is this .dll part of the PMDG 744? It sounds like Level-D! I have no idea why the lvld.dll would be loaded if it's not part of the PMDG 744.Any ideas?http://www.cpavirtual.org/images/banners/MyNewCrapBanner.jpgEric Thornton - CX001

That makes sense. This could get really messy with buggy or conflicting .dll's.I have a lot of payware installed and my modules folder is looking really full. It doesn't make any sense to have to load a .DLL if you don't use it, waste of memory, FS resources, etc. This is not a good trend.http://www.cpavirtual.org/images/banners/MyNewCrapBanner.jpgEric Thornton - CX001

Hi Eric,Yes that file is part of the LevelD 767.In the latest version of the 767 there is an option to disable the LevelD module when the 767 is not loaded.I recommend you turn on this option and see if it still crashes.pilotinfo.gif

You're probably right if the application is buggy, but in the case of LDS, I wouldn't think that was the case. If it were, there'd be a slew of complaints.I still think removing the dll in question from the Modules folder would at least confirm whether it was a bad file or not. If it is, try running the latest and see if that helps. Otherwise, uninstall the 763 completely and reinstall using the latest Flight1 wrapper which has the latest updates included.Jim[link:www.precisionmanuals.com]http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

I was just wondering about this issue. I seem to be getting a warning from FSX when I boot the sim. It says there is a problem with the file do I want to run it. Guess this answers that question. Glad to see I am not alone. This just seem to occur about two or three windows updates ago. Not sure if they had an effect but would be curious to know from the developer if this may be the case. I don't use the craft much anymore so I may just uninstall it and let it sit in my inactive folder for a while and see what happens. Cpt out.

When I still had LDS 767 installed I got constant crashes on FSX startup, maybe like 40% of the time & after each crash I got a warning message about Level D 767 DLL file causing problems. Weirdly enough I never had any problems with it when actually flying, anyway it was too annoying so I uninstalled it.

Also this happened on multiple different FSX installation with latest Level D 767 installer from Flight 1 and everything...

Yes, I had to do the same. It did not work at all with RASSPro DLL, so off to the scrapper the LVLD went. It is Russian roulette where that dll is placed in the dll.xml.

Sigh. The poor old LDS 767. A revolution at the time - who can forget the hosties that would yell at you if the packs were too hot or cold in the back? Imagine a 767 done with NGX quality, with super sharp textures and lovely fingerprints on the displays. You'd never get me out of it. All that power!
