Leaning forward in the 744 is it possible to see any of the nose? Much like this shot of what I'm used to;

If so it would be great to add a few polgons (maybe take them away from the cabin ;-)) as I often do a "Virtual Lean forward" overflying an airport etc... Although leaning forward in a level-D simulator I've never seen a nose... Any thoughts?Cheers,Paul

Look at a side-on profile of most boeing airliners and you'll notice that the slope of the front windshield is about the same as the slope of the fueslage leading down to the nose (the 'hood of your car' bit if you will). As such even if you smoosh your face against the windscreen you can't see much if any of the nose.Plus the next captain on board will get pretty annoyed with you for leaving a big face print on his windscreen. :-)

>As such even if you smoosh your face against the windscreen>you can't see much if any of the nose.However I was reading somewhere that the only airliner in which you can NOT see the nose of the aircraft from the cockpit no matter where you put your face is DC10 (MD11). In other aircraft it is possible if you position yourself correctly.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg

True, but in terms of where you should be positioned in the cockpit for normal flight operations, I dont think you could see any nose in the 747. Your chin would have to be over the glareshield. Sort of like the cliche of an old lady driving with her chin on the top of the steering wheel, squinintg at the road ahead. :-lolIn the 767 if you stand right behind the flight crew with your head nearly touching the circuit breakers you can just see some nose.
