Thanks though :)I only meant to say that i was hoping the new 747's would have a cockpit design more following the one of the 787 than go for a more classic style. As usual, a matter of individual taste.Best RegardsThomasELLX

I agree with you Thomas, the cockpit in the 787 is really cool in my eyes!!

I don't like the look of the 787 flight deck. The proposed 747-8 cockpit looks much better. Pretty much a 777 style 74 fight deck is the way to go.

You do not need to fly a B747-400F to see the "vertical mode" on the displays. It is enough to fly a Dornier 328-110. It could be a good choice for the next PMDG project.Andrea

Doesn't make business sense. Airlines will be using the 748 next to the 744 and thus will want type commonality for a common rating between the two.By giving it a few more options that's possible, by giving it a completely different flightdeck layout it's not.

But i wouldn't say that it doesn't make any business sense at all. Don't forget that one advantage of having an Airbus fleet is that type rating transitions / trainings are faster and hence more economical, i.e. due to different variations of the same cockpit design.Best RegardsThomasELLX
