PMDG products are really annoying me now - FMC problem

Recommended Posts

Guest captainmk

I got PMDG 747 and 737 for christmas lately and have recieved so many errors I actually considered not using PMDGs products ever again! The FMC Is such a devil when trying to program it correctly! Until now, after about 20 tries on each plane and many different tutorials, I can't get the FMC to load the waypoints or even work properly (meaning, I can't even make my first proper flight with PMDG aircraft!)! For the 747, the FMC is great, except it doesn't really do the most important thing.I am using the tutorial here "http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/" and everything went fine, until i came up to the fmc. The tutorial tells me to insert KLAXKEDW into the scratchpad and insert it into the CO ROUTE (LSK 3L), so i do, then I get a "NOT IN DATABASE" error. I have been getting these types of errors since I bought PMDG, what the **** do I do?BTW I only want help with the PMDG 747, infact, I've had it with the 737.

Hi, (please sign your real name next time in accordance with forum rules, thanks)1. Did you download and properly extract the flightplan and route files for Smitty's tutorial? From the tutorial:"I STRONGLY recommend downloading this cold/dark scenario http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/pmdgcolddark.zip and flight plan as all graphics and panel states will match those found in this guide. The flight plan followed in the tutorial (KLAX-KEDW) is also provided. After downloading, extract the ColdDarkKLAX.FLT file to your Flight Simulator 9FlightsPMDG folder. Extract the ColdDarkKLAX.sav file to the Flight Simulator 9PMDG747400PanelState folder. Extrace KLAXKEDW.rte to your Flight Simulator 9PMDGFLIGHTPLANS folder. When you are done, open FS9 and click Select a Flight (or Flight... Select a Flight if you're already in the cockpit). Select PMDG under Choose a Category and then select ColdDarkKLAX under Choose a flight. Click OK to enter the dark cabin of your 747 which is parked at gate I1 at KLAX."If those files aren't in the right place, you will get the error you described.2. Did you update the Navdata and terminal procedures?Navdata: http://www.navdata.at (the file listed for the 737 also works for the 747)Terminal Procedures: http://www.planepath.com - extract them to Flight Simulator 9PMDGSIDSTARS.If you're still having problems after this let us know. Try to have some patience - these are the most complex simulations availiable for MSFS and they take some time to learn - we're here to help!
