ILS Approach and Nose Dipping

Recommended Posts

Guest apopilot29

This evening I was on an ILS approach into KMDW on Runway 31C. The winds were calm but it was hazzy and visibility was 5 nm. I wanted to bring the aircraft in all the way and pull the throttle back when the PFD depicted RETARD. When I did the nose just dipped straight down when above 30 AGL. I would appreciate some input. I was not using a weather add-on package. I was using the standard Jeppeson weather DATA. Thank you,Abe

I can't give you the answer you're looking for, but that same thing happened to me about a month ago on approach to KEWR, visibility was poor, everything was ok and then all of a sudden...same thing happened. I ended up crashing like 20 feet from the runway. Brandon StollKVCV
