Compiler/Decompiler for Model (.mdl) files?

Recommended Posts

Guest

Is there a utility that compiles and decompiles the FS2K2 .mdl files in the model directory? What do designers use when they design new aircraft? The data.cfg and aircraft.cfg are both editable with Notepad, but the .mdl files are comiled code similar to .bgl files.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!Keith

There is no decompiler for FS2002 *.mdl files. Designers use the MakeMDL.exe file to compile the files when using GMAX. Other third party programs use their compilers.

Keep in mind, that even if there were a decompiler out there, decompiling and modifying the model file is a violation of most author's copyright restrictions, including mine. :-)Mike Stone
