HiQuestion regarding starting the APU whilst in the air. My PMDG 747 won't allow me. Is this inhibited in the PMDG and what is the r/l situation. Perhaps none of the failure checklists ie electrical bus failure ask for APU start ?MTIASteve

Steve,This is indeed inhibited on the PMDG bird as on the real one. Don't know if there is an airline option to have it start midflight. But then again you have 4 big 'APU's, two on each wing so if you are out of power and bleed air you are likely to be facing some other more serious problems as well...Hope it helps,

Hi MattsYes very good point, with no engine's who gives a stuff about the APU. I know the B777 APU can be started in flight and will even start itself under certain circumstances, but of course the B777 loses 50% with one eng out.CheersSteve
