Playing online with ADSL

Quick Question?Any one else play online in the Uk using ADSL? I have just started trying to connect online with my Pipex connection through my Asus router (running NAT) annd I cant get connected to any game at all? Any advice will be appreciated? (do I have to map the appropiate ports through to my machine?)Thanks in AdvanceDean.
