remove SID speed restriction

Recommended Posts

Guest stevesj

HiIn the 737, what is the 'text book' way to remove the speed restriction typically 250/10000, assuming you are level at 5000 on an SID and ATC clear you to cruise level with no speed. I know you can use V/S or LVL CHG but what are the VNAV options. If you are a whizz on the 747 too, why not answer for both a/c if the procedure is different ?CheersSteve

G'Daytry pressing the delete key on the FMC, and then click on 250/10000 on the Climb Page. This should delete the speed restriction.

Are you deleting the constraint on the Legs page? That's okay, but if you are below 10000 there is an additional constraint on the CLB page. You may need to reset that as well. The only airspace that I am aware of that has a higher speed limit is Houston, which has a NOTAM out announcing 280 kts below 10000. But, since I am in TX I am probably unaware of others.
