Weather Rader for the Queen

Recommended Posts

Guest amsterdamer

Hi there, a quick general question does anybody know if PMDG will ever release a WX rader package for PMDG 747-400 version, because I dont know why it is not possible for PMDG to do this, if PSS 777 professional can do this (although I do not recommend anybody to purchase it), why cant PMDG do it, if it had a weather rader it would further enhance the product and make it extra enjoyable for its purchasers, thanks.Rayek.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/ritz...tishAirways.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/ritzer82/untitled.jpg

Rayek--Did you try to search the forum? I don't mean to offend you, but this has been discussed by posters, as well as elaborated in GREAT detail by PMDG developers on why they don't want to do it. The short answer -- no, there are no plans to make one. The reason? The amount of detail and authenticity that goes on into the PMDG products is unmatched. The implementation of a realistic WX radar into the model is impossible, not due to lack of PMDG skill, but due to FS limitations. PMDG decided: if we can't do it right, we won't do it at all. If you'd like to have a radar, I think XP standalone radar is a good choice. When other companies claim "the most realistic WX radar", it really means "most realistic as far as the sim would allow". Sorry if that disappoints you.-----------------------------------------Sergey Kireyevhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg http://bav.vatools.com/pilotinfo.php?pid=0...b744&vid=958937

As mentioned many times before by their customers and by even reviewers they have said that the PSS packages are better for beginers than PMDG or even Level D as it does not have all the complex warnings and checklists in order to even start their engines. For me I normally cheat when I use their pacakges by using CTRL+E to start the engines. Something I cannot do with the Ready for pushback B747s. The PSS Packages have but not to the PMDG or LEvel D levels. There are the Feelthere packages that are also very good like the EMB and the B737 which to a certain extent are even better than the PMDG ones. It is comments like these that will provoke alot of feelings that can be best avoided. I am actually waiting more in anticipation for the MD-11 as the B744F can be at the most be a slight overhaul of the original B744 package that was released last August I remembered correctly(as there were many positive comments with it there were also some negative ones about it as well like the ones about PMDG over promisig on it and then it was discovered that it only had the GE engines modelled and some other faults that many customers did not find that amazing at all....There was also the FPS problems many customers experienced as well which was not to be expected from a product that was in development for such a long time and PMDG gave all of us the distinct impression that it was a perfect problem). The MD-11 has been in development for i am guessing maybe 3 or 4 years as Bill has been working on it for a very long time already. I loved his freeware EMB projects and since this is going to be a payware I am anticipating alot more than that one.Best regards,AG

Guys - PMDG have not said that they will not EVER make one just in the currect fs9 sim BUT I see FSX on the horizon and perhaps we might see this and many other things on PMDG "planes" so don't discount anything yet. ...............Randy J.
