FMS-"End Of Route"

Featured Replies

The 747-400 Cargo is just great......I'm amazed by it's accuracy. However, Two things that I've noticed.1- The erroneous "Fuel Disgree" FMS message which I was getting after touchdown is now gone..(Great News).2- Unfortunately I'm no longer getting the normal "End Of Route" FMS message after touchdown...(Not so great news).Regards,Martiro

Maybe it's removal was correct. I can't think of any reason the crew would need to be informed that the LNAV route has ended once the plane has been on the ground for a certain period of time. In the 767 sim that I use, the FMC simply resets after engine shutdown.

2- Unfortunately I'm no longer getting the normal "End Of Route" FMS message after touchdown...(Not so great news). How sure are you that that this message is suppose to display after a landing? Have a look at this and tell me what you think.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145458.jpg Does not look to me that this at all applies to your "assumption". This clearly states that when the active route is overflown the "AFDS maintains last hdg" which is impossible on the ground. No other reasons are listed or implied. What the 737 does has no bearing since in that case it is clear that the end of route does appear after landing. ...............Randy J. Martiro-fortunately, we removed that "normal" End Of Route FMS message, which proved to be incorrect ;-). The only situation where you'd have that message pop up is if you were in LNAV mode, in the air, and you had overflown the last programmed FMC waypoint. So - to recap - the old way was incorrect, the new way is correct(er) - sic. ;-)
