Tail stand

Recommended Posts

Hi,I was just wondering, is the tail stand functional or is it just a visual thing?the Freeware IL-62 for instance, has a 4th wheel support at its tail - if you load it incorrectly and won't extend that wheel, the aircraft will tilt and sit on its tail....Is that the case with the 744F, or is the tailstand just a cosmetic addition?//Michael

>Hi Michael,>>well if you take a look at the pics I posted the link for you>will soon recognize what the tail stand is for!! ;-)>>This photos show exactly what would happen if you place cargo>at the very end of the 744F without compansating the front or>without the tail stand. >>http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0065821/L/ >>http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0065819/L/Yes, this Matthias, was EXACTLY what I was referring to...So, my question still stands: is this simulated on the 744F (like on the freeware I had mentioned), or is the stand just a cosmetic addition?//Michael
