747 Queen - Alt Selector won't advance & Panel lights

Recommended Posts

Guest k7ltf

helloI have been having some trouble in getting the Altitude selector knob to advance eg 800-900-1000 ft etc. - the one that you would use in conjuction with autopilot etc. I can surly get it to decrease, but when i try to rotate it, vurtualy of course, it does not want to budge. - Any thoughts? Also is the switch for the panel lights, is it located on the overhead panel?ThanksZach Bender K7LTF

You must right-click on the knobs to rotate them clockwise. Left-clicks rotate them counter-clockwise.There are four panel light knobs on the overhead panel, yes. They're at the bottom left. The switch marked "Dome" will provide bright light to the entire panel.Best regards,

note that if you fly without VNAV you have to activate V/S mode and set a proper vertical speed. The AP will hold that V/S until approaching the altitude set in the altitude window and level off at it.You can also use FLCH. For this, select a new altitide in the altitude window, hit the FLCH button and the button under the altitude window. Don´t forget to move your throttles back if you have throttle override enabled ( in the PMDG menu).

Something else to consider...I believe, depending on the version of the sim you have, you have to make sure the correct electrical busses are powered for MCP ops.(Edit) Earlier versions did not have this dependency.Cheers.Q>
