Recommended Posts

Guest castleberg

Hello People have had similar problems, I know. I want to cross the pond in the PMDG 747. When it comes to entering Lat/Long coordinates I keep getting the message not in Database for example with N62 and W20. I've tried all possiblities on the RTE page. When I try to enter N62W020 in the LEGS page the result I get is N61W019 (!!!???). I'll never get to cross the pond with these problems. PLease help. Thanks Tom

Tom,That would be 6240ELet's look at 4 different examples:62N 40E 6240E62S 40E 6240S62S 40W 6240W62N 40W 6240NGet the picture? OK, so what happens when the longitude is 100 or more in either direction? Simple:62N 140E 62E4062S 140E 62S4062S 140W 62W4062N 140W 62N40You can take a look in C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9FMCWPNavDatawpNavFIX.txt, they are all defined in there.Cheers,S

This is interesting as the manual doesn't mention this as an acceptable format. Although it works. Thanks

Took me a while to get my head round this but it looks as though I should visualize the N,S,W,E compass rose rotated anti-clockwise by approx 45 degrees to get the letter at the end of the sequence. Thus the NW quadrant is NNE is ESE is Sand SW is WUnless there's an easier way to visualize it...?Rob
