I have Emailed them I wondered if they would be interested to know what is happening around them!Back to Work.See you laterTerry

The idea with the additional batons would IMHO provide the fairest way to select the jet fighter pilots. But I didn

Some thoughts...The final baton holder should be able to start their flight into Heathrow from whichever airport location he / she is currently at.The military escort should coordinate to take off from a nearby AFB and hook up with the "Baton Flight" at least 50nm (or 100nm ?) outside of Heathrow. That should solve the runway dilemma as well as the multiple aircraft take-off point. Those that fly the military escort duty can make their life easier if they grab one of two aircraft currently available with aircraft radar intercept abilities... the F-16 and / or Mirage 2000. You can find both of these aircraft / panels here (soory, there's no AVSim link I could find for these): http://emarciano.free.fr/ Too bad there's not an AI-equipped radar panel for any of the current British fighters (Harrier, Tornado or Jaguar).BTW, as I was one of the volunteer's for the military flight I won't be available at the time indicated... but don't hold the flight for just littl' ol' me.Hawkeyez :-kewl

>To keep things clear: Is that you on the west coast of USA, >or is it lhaso? Danny,It's okay -- confusion is my normal state of mind .I'm on the West coast, but I can't be certain that Lhaso (Michael also, although only my wife and mother calls me anything other than Mike) isn't as well.I also sent an email to him saying we needed to get going on this to the point of at least making an announcement, since I thought people might want to plan their day. I was also worried about another fighter pilot, but it looks like we have that.To reiterate: I'm more than willing to host, and I would suggest it take place at 3pm PST (6pm EST, 11pm somewhere in Europe :>) If the other Michael wants to host that's fine with me -- I just want to clear it up so we're all ready for this.I have not heard back from him but he may not find it as easy to respond at work as some of us (LOL).

Hy!To recapitulate: We have one volunteer to host the event at 6PM EDT (kelleym), then we have one of two volunteers for the fighters (me, czoczek). Hawkeyez told us in post 18, that he isn

Sorry folks, but the map in this post does not show the route. Where is our big loop out to the Canary Islands? Where is our Mexican hop? Where is our stop off in KDFW and KMGM? That is not the right paste up, screenshot,or map folks. Ha.

Got an idea: How about while you are circling, perhaps on autopilot, and, of course carrying at least one more pair of eyes--you get off a nice posting on "How to Multiplay" in flight sim. MSFS2002, natch. Then there might be an armada to head on into Heathrow. Thanks. Aeromachines. If this pilot does not write up a quick multiplayer intro--anyone else can take up the challenge.

I'll go you one better -- assuming I do host the flight (and that's still unsure in my mind, as I haven't heard back from the other Michael yet. If he wants to do it, he has priority, as far as I'm concerned) I suggest we have a "dress rehearsal" for those who want to do a flyover (much the same as our steadfast volunteers have been doing for us for hours :>). I'll provide the details and we do our dress a few hours before the "real" flight (say sometime around 1pm PST/4pm EST/9pm Europe). We can work out any bugs and then have the "real" flight a couple of hours later, to accomodate everyone (well, as many more as possible).

Just a clarification...I'm not available at the time that's being tossed around (6pm PDT) but I would be available later... around 11pm CDT.But again, don't let this affect the flight if others wanna do this earlier for obvious reasons. :-)(and who knows, maybe some terrorist group will comandere an Israli MiG and try to take out "Baton Flight 01" :-wink2 ) Hawkeyez :-kewl

I had intended on catching some rest before i went up again but i just helped my self to the airport buffet only 5 pounds! and got the baton and went up again. By the time i was ready for takeoff the press had arrived at the airport to cover the story. I told them that i would answer their questions after i land. I took up my Cessna and headed to the northwest on a partly cloudy English afternoon. Once again taking in more scenery. Somehow i missed the papparazzi camera man who snuck in the back. These British Tabloids, well i will deal with him when he gets on the ground in the meantime i have no choice but to let him stay, but you can be sure he will wish he didnt come up once i try to bring this thing in for a landing.I got out to past EGNM at 3500ft and 120 knots and began to turn back to Sandtoft, knowing the wave of press that wait for me. Hopefully i can get a constable to take care of my stowaway, have a quick little press conference and head back to the place i have been staying and listening to the coordination of what could be the final flight. I came in for another windswept landing. My passenger in the back actually brought up his lunch! I hurried out of my plane over to a podium that had set up to take some questions and then hopped a ride with one of my new found friends here. The flight took 58 minutes and another 8 gallons, the baton is at EGCF up for the taking. Gee its sure getting crowded over here!
