Robert,It's because, AFAIK, Active Sky/HiFi modelled WT by effecting the trim on your plane when certain variables exist (ie. proximal AI). It's just something that HiFi programmed for fun, since we all know this is a simulator and the weather is far from realistic. I used the WT when HiFi first included it, and it worked fine in my Piper Meridian and other small GAs at the time. However, once I got the Aeroworx B200, it effected it and I looked into the matter, as the original poster is doing here. Once I found out that it wasn't the plane, but the Active Sky WT, I turned it off. I can't use icing either, and Active Sky lets me disalbe it, so I don't get IAS dropping to zero.

Hi All,1. Yes, this could be wake turbulence, especially with 1 minute between planes.2. Yes, WT can cause pitch UP and DOWN. Having AP on can cause things to be worse, because FS04 can over-react to environmental situations. Watch the Auto-Throttle sometimes and see.3. Yes, you may need to see if Increase WT is also turned On.4. Don't like your separation from other aircraft? Use AI Smooth, AI Separation, or Radar Contact. All 3 of these programs can help!5. You can check the ASv6 main window as every WT event is broadcast there. Yes, you do need to see the ASv6 screen or pause FS04 and switch to ASv6.6. If this is a constant event AND caused by WT, you can sure turn WT off in ASv6!If anyone would like further help in this matter or any other AS issue, please e-mail us at [email protected] everyone for your help and support!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Jim-For the primary influence of Wake Turbulence to be vertical (pitch up/down) you would need to travers the vortex rotor laterally at exceptionally slow speed in a very small airplane. (ie: perpendicular flight paths.)I've been vectored into a few wake encounters (the worst of which was behind a 727, if you can believe) and I assure you that my real life experience backed up the simulator training: The primary influence of Wake Turbulence is roll, not pitch. Any pitch change is normally the result of the rolling moment and is very small in relation. (Caveat: rolling beyond 60 degrees can cause a severe departure from level flight, and fortunately i've never experienced that!)In the most memorable experiences, the autopilot disconnected during the roll influence. I had my hands on the yoke in both instances and was amazed that just before the rolling motion I felt the ailerons shudder just prior to the event. (I'm not sure you'd feel that if your roll controls are hydraulically acuated...)In one instance (in IMC...not fun) we saw a significant roll to the right (25deg?) followed almost immediately by a roll to the left (55 degrees). This roll caused a 10 degree nose down pitch which was the result of lift loss as a result of the banked condition. This is generally the experience they give you in the simulator during training as well... Maye this info might help to implement a new model for wake turbulence in active sky?
