Pre Flight 747

Is there anyplace to download takeoff data cards? And what are the other preflight duties that are done by the pilot that include the charts listed in the manual? Do the v-speeds need to be manually calculated even though the fmc will od the job? I just want to simulated airlines procedures to the highest accuracy.

Do real life pilots use these cards and write in with a pen all the relevant details?? Thanks in advance.

I think most pilots usually plan this part out, using a pen, before the flight but I'm not for sure. You might benefit asking someone else that question.Joshuah Wetzel

Most airlines have a takeoff data card of some decription. Using the Atis we look in manual for all the necessary info needed for TO. This info is transferred to the data card and used for reference. It covers things such as Max TOW off the runway (packs ON and OFF), TO power settings, Assumed thrust derates, Flap setting, Eng out procedures if any and acceleration altitudes and V speeds etc. This is all done during the preflight procedure in the cockpit.CheersSteve
