Why is ILS info in the PFD yellow?

Recommended Posts

Hi, here's a nice easy one for you PMDG experts...On the PFD of my 737-700 NG, the ILS information in the top left-hand corner giving the ILS's ID and its approach course is often yellow and appears to be struck through. What is yellow trying to tell me?Thanks for your help.Geoff

I've notice that too... and that it always turns normal (green on my display) when I'm within a reliable range of the navaid. I've assumed that the yellow line-through meant the signal was not reliable, same as a flag on steam gauges. Although not useable, it is still useful because I learn what the FMC expects the final course to be, which is often a degree or so different from current charts.

Thanks for that, Dan. The time I last remember seeing it yellow was when I was on the ground at the airport. I guess the signal isn't great on the ground.Geoff
