737-600/700 VC upgrade with the 800/900

Featured Replies

Hey Everyone,I haven't had the 737 series installed in a long time and I finally got around to redownloading it and installing it again. I can't remember now - does the 800/900 upgrade also upgrade the 600/700 VC so that 1) the lower display works, 2) rain appears on the windshield and 3) misc gauges that were added in the 800/900 appear in the 600/700 VC?I tried to search but nothing really came up and I find the search funtion on the Avsim forums less than stellar, so I appologize (and premptively make excuses :D) if this is easily covered somewhere. Thanks!

Ian,Once you have the complete series (600-900) installed, you have to run the file "PMDG_737_800_900_Model_Update" According to the "readme' in this update "This update replaces the 737-600/700 and 737-700-Winglets models with versions that are compatible with the "clickable Virtual Cockpit" found in your 737-800/900 models."Hope this helps.

Is the file your talking about separate from the 800/900 installer or is it the installer itself? Thanks for your help!EDIT - In my haste, I overlooked the obvious place to find this file - the PMDG downloads. I've found what I was looking for and it appears to have worked! Thanks again!
