October 1, 200619 yr This applies to pilots or those who have ever travelled in the cockpit. When the spoilers are extended in flight, is any rumble or other sound heard? I think it was discussed some time ago, but i couldn't find it.ThanksPaul
October 1, 200619 yr Yes there is a rumble and naturally it is dependant on speed.CheersSteve Cheers Steve Hall
October 1, 200619 yr What do you mean by rumble, Steve? Is it:Noise coming directly from the spoilers through the side windows of the cockpit?Vibration (only) coming throught the fuselage which is felt through the seat of the pants?Vibration through the fuselage causing items in the cockpit to shake (which subsequently generate sound)? e.g. panels, coffee cups, etc.Thanks.Cheers.Q>
October 1, 200619 yr Hard to say really Q,It appears to be turbulence from the spoiler panels drumming through the airframe. The reasonance makes it's way up to the flight deck. It is an audible low frequency rumble.CheersSteve Cheers Steve Hall
