No FMC or SID STARS Database populated after install

Hello!I see the directories for the database info on my PC however they have not been populated. Should they load when the plane 747/400 was installed or do you have to get them elsewhere? I bought the boxed version from Amazon.comThis is my first experience with PMDG planes or any plane for that matter. I am running on FS9 which I recently loaded also for fear that FSX aould not run on my PC. Asus P4S8X-MX 2.4G with 2Gb Memory radeon 9200 128 mb and 150 GB hard drive.I am new. This is only my 3rd week with any flight sim so I am certain I have missed something during the install or with understanding the product. In the event I must purchase another add on to get the database's above so they can be used I want to know the best two options and packages that will run with FSX as well since it is currently being shipped to me.I was surprised to hear that PMDG was offering a discount to those who bought directly vs someone who bought from a retail source. I hope I can avoid this in the future. For me buying from a U.S. source has benefits in saving on shipping cost and import duty as well as having the product on CD in my hand instead of a download that I will lose as soon as I need to re-format the drive again.Monty HowardTampa, Florida USA

I only have the 737, but they both use the same data.Free data is available; however, the latest airac data that goes in the FMCWP folder is not free and is available from navigraph.com for about $2.60/cycle. Free cycle 0610 data is available from navdata.at and current US-only sidstars are available from planepath.com ... additional info is in this forum if you do an advanced search; also, see the article on sidstars in the PMDG OPS wiki section.Hope this helps.
